The Soulless have risen. Dead men, who should've stayed that way, made a deal with Death, to roam in this world as abominations.
He was the one to cleanse it. The Order was the one to guide him. His ironclad flesh, made stronger by the will of his mind.
The footsteps drew ever near, but he remained calm. What good would panic give him? Death will come for him one day. Better to be prepared than angry.
He took the blade out of its sheath and prayed over it. He felt the very will of the Light fill this weapon, and it - just as himself - prepared for battle.
He stood up, sword in hand. A man of The Order, a man of unbreakable will, fighting for those, who cannot fight.
He opened his eyes and began his work.
The original lore for this artwork was done by my dear friend Franek Grabarczyk.
The title for this artwork was inspired by Heartstone, the paladin class in that game screamed "by the light!' while attacking. I wanted to capture that feeling of combat like you were in the middle of that swing. I followed the golden ratio while designing the composition, which can be seen in the process video below. My biggest struggle was capturing the pose for the Paladin, I went through a lot of options and asked my friends for advice. I am really happy with the lighting in this one.
