AIAIAI magazine
A paper-based social media made for creatives

INTRO
The book tells the story of a post published on social media written by Bruno, an ordinary graphic designer who speaks out against artificial intelligence, which he sees as a real threat to his profession. The post goes viral and is bombarded with responses both for and against his ideas, resulting in a continuous exchange of opinions between users and Bruno himself.

“AIAIAI” is an editorial project that aims to explore a common thought in graphic design that currently worries many creatives: the imminent arrival of artificial intelligence. To do so, it uses of a language that, until now, has been widely used but little recognized: that of memes.

Will AI steal our jobs?
Artificial intelligence generates art by mixing and reprocessing existing cultural data, resulting in outputs that are essentially copies of pre-existing content. While AI can quickly meet user expectations, its creativity is derivative. In contrast, humans possess "true creativity," which involves producing genuinely original and innovative ideas that go beyond mere recombination of existing elements.

MEMES
The project AIAIAI utilizes memes as a form of communication due to their immediate and recognizable nature, influenced by the prevalence of social media in our lives. These memes, however, are distinctively visually appealing. Why pursue "beautiful" memes? Because the project targets graphic designers and creative individuals who have a moral obligation to seek beauty beyond the ordinary. By transforming the typically unpleasant and grotesque into something aesthetically pleasing, the project aims to draw creatives closer, encouraging them to engage with it on a deeper level.
"ArtificialIntelligenceAIAI"
The pages you see were made with the use of artificial intelligence. This is precisely why AIAIAI aspires to be a concrete response to “creatives” like Bruno, demonstrating what artificial intelligence is capable of and how an ongoing dialogue can be established between the creative and artificial intelligence.
