Accessibility
I wanted to create posts that were centered around making accessible Instagram posts on the topic of mental health. The goal was to ensure that the content could be easily understood and engaged with by a diverse audience, including those with visual or cognitive impairments. Through careful consideration of design elements such as color contrast, font size, and image descriptions, I aimed to make the posts inclusive and impactful, sparking meaningful conversations around mental health awareness.
First Version:
Initially, I struggled to find the right layout and design elements to effectively convey the message while ensuring accessibility for all users. However, after receiving feedback, I decided to completely overhaul my layout and start afresh.
Final Version:
Despite keeping the same wording, I reimagined the visual presentation to better fit my topic, incorporating clearer imagery, more accessible fonts, and a user-friendly navigation flow. This adjustment allowed me to create a more appealing and accessible post for Instagram, catering to a wider audience and effectively communicating the importance of mental health awareness.
Protanopia Type:
From this module, I learned the importance of designing with accessibility in mind and how small design choices can have a significant impact on user experience. I applied this knowledge by ensuring that the content of my Instagram posts was clear and easily digestible, utilizing concise language and straightforward visuals to convey the message effectively to all users, regardless of their abilities.
Deuteranopia Type:
In previous modules, exercises, lectures, and discussions, I gained a deeper understanding of the principles of effective communication and visual storytelling. I applied this knowledge by crafting compelling narratives within my Instagram posts, leveraging engaging imagery and thought-provoking captions to create an emotional connection with the audience and encourage meaningful engagement with the content.
