"Close your eyes
Open your Mind"
Spring 2024 Graphic Design Final
For our final project, we made two short animations based off of a six-word prompt about our life. "Close your eyes, open you mind" is a lyric from a song by "London after Midnight". The quote relates to my experience of uncertainty I've had my whole life. I never truly feel like myself, only when I'm asleep or alone I'm able to properly express myself.
The first animation has no sound and only consists of ellipses and rectangles. The inspiration came from the solar eclipse that had occurred this year. The idea is how my true self doesn't shine until it's in complete darkness.

I embraced the eye imagery in my second animation, along with keeping the cosmic imagery from the first animation. For the iris I used real images of the sun and moon from the NASA image archive. The song used is "Dove" by Antihoney, I used it for it's whimsical yet eerie feeling.
