Sustainability Collection
Here at the University of Alabama, we have an annual fashion show called Tee Time, dubbed it's name because, initially, all garments had to be made from T-shirts. It is now a sustainable fashion show where all looks must be made from second-hand textiles. I was inspired by the 19th-century carnival scene, Marie Antoinette, and Chanel's Spring/Summer 2023 Haute Couture show. I wanted to achieve an all-white whimsical collection, drawing creativity from many elements of each of my inspirational outlets. The skirt in look one, seen below is inspired by a neck ruff (the collar that clowns wear), and the top is inspired by Marie Antoinette. Look two is channeling more of a 19th-century ringmaster while still achieving the feminine aesthetic of Marie Antoinette and Chanel's ss 23 haute couture collection.
