These was a part of my design ll project, where I had to pick a social issue and design an ad for awareness. One of them I picked my own and another was assigned.
This was the issue that was assigned to me. The topic was about mental health. I went to research and choose to bring awareness on OCD for what it is and what it is not. There are many people who falsely assume it's merely about being a perfectionist, some dismissing it as a real disorder all together. I chose to represent this by having the focus of the ad be on the typography. I changed some letters to numbers, or made one a different size of the rest. This was to show how OCD is generally portrayed. The words that are emphasized show the cycles of the disorder. Going through obsessiveness, anxiety, compulsions, and then temporary relief, only for it to keep repeating.
Accompanying this, I had to design a tabloid based on said certain issue. Below shows the back and front covers. Next is the inside left and right. I had quite a lot of fun designing this and even learned a few things about the disorder I was not aware of. I felt compelled to do obsessive-compulsive disorder because it felt pretty personal to me. While I'm not professionally diagnosed with having it, I do struggle with certain compulsive behaviors that affect my overall mental and physical health that I never paid that much attention to before.

Left shows inside left portion of the tabloid when opened up. Right side shows the right portion.
