GRC 211: Illustrator LinkedIn Learning Path
The Illustrator Tutorial I watched was called "Creating and Adapting a Logo" by Deke McClelland. It walked through the steps of creating a logo from the sketch and ideation process to creating guides for your logo. The prompt for this learning journal was to "...create a logo for either a fictitious or real company."
I chose this tutorial because I wanted to learn some tricks to create logos in Illustrator. I was also drawn to how to adapt logos when thinking of different end uses.
With a fictitious company generated by ChatGPT, Neontech Retrolabs. I used its values of innovative technology with retro aesthetics in mind when coming up with a logo. I took inspiration from the style of old gaming consoles while keeping it minimal.

I thoroughly enjoyed this project and the process. Through the tutorial, I learned new tricks, such as separating different steps of the design process in Illustrator into distinct layers. I also learned that creating guides and instructions as you go through the design can help keep the design and measurements consistent.
