The Fisherman
A local fisherman in Thailand
A village elder sits in a soft thin threadbare shirt in a tangled sea of cool damp synthetic netting. Working with dry, rough calloused hands, he skillfully repairs a web of traditional cast fishing net under the warm rays of morning light in Southern Thailand.
Where the time stop and you forget the caos and stress of the big cities, the Southern Thailand, where the rhythm of life is dictated by the ebb and flow of the ocean. For generations, the villagers have relied on the sea for sustenance, and the art of net making has been passed down through the ages.
