Back and forth, start and restart again
With this week's Mondays Challenge I tried to capture a bit of the energy and feeling that goes into a project that pulls you left, right, and back again as everything is trashed. I wanted to portray it in a bit of a less conventional way with puppet strings going to the designer's brain. In a way I feel like this reflected my own creative struggles these past few weeks, where I was my own harsh client scrutinizing my ideas until they were eventually tossed out.
After the prior week's success with hands it seems I was brave enough to jump right into it again, this time with even more prominence. The color palette felt very different from what you might expect with a computer-oriented idea, so I think that pushed me into the more textured, flat style and stylized screen with older flashbulbs. That gave the end animation a bit of whimsy, which was then amplified when I found the musical backing track.
This was created in Adobe Illustrator and animated using After Effects. I used Rubberhose 3 to create the string rig.
