The challenge for our team was creating an awesome Mac app for our Quickbooks Online Mac users. Intuit has traditionally done poorly  with it's Mac desktop product, with problems like lack of parity with its PC counterpart and also a confusing user experience. 

 

We tackled the problem by taking a look at some of the best Mac apps out there today to understand what Mac tablestakes we needed while balancing the immense functionality within Quickbooks Online. 

 

We built critical Mac functionality like multiwindow usage, keyboard shortcuts, increased speed and performance that put us above a browser experience. Next up, we sought to bring a truly Mac-like feel to the experience. We created a 'QuickView' widget that stays on the desktop to allow users to access their business information anytime without the app open. 

 

Our work ended being featured by Apple on our release as an Editor's Choice app while also receiving great reviews from new users as well as existing Quickbooks users.
