Kansas Appleseed Stickers

Kansas Appleseed Stickers, December 2023
Medium: Digital
This project was a little different than normal- we had a real client! We were working with a non-profit organization named Kansas Appleseed, and we were asked to create stickers for their brand. We had the choice to submit 1-3 stickers, and I chose to submit 3. We worked with a representative to get her opinions on our initial sketches, but then we were on our own for the rest of the process. The goal for the stickers were to represent their brand as a whole. So, for my stickers, I used the company color palette and included their campaign areas.

For my first sticker, the nutrition label, I leaned into their campaign for children’s nutrition and created a nutrition facts label that has their brand name, and one of their big values of working together (along with the number 365 as the “calorie”). I used each of their three campaign areas as each of the ingredients and used 100% for their daily value percentage. I then added little doodles on top of the label to give it a more childish vibe, as I was focusing on children’s nutrition.

*My 'Nutrition Facts' sticker got chosen to be printed and used by the organization!!*

For the second sticker, I illustrated a hand putting a vote ballot into a voting box. The ballot represents the company, and has each of their campaign areas checked off to show that the company values and enacts these areas in their daily practice.

For my third sticker, I created a watering can watering three sunflowers, which represent Kansans and the state of Kansas, with their three campaign areas , to show that Kansas thrives and grows under the use of thrive, justice, and inclusivity.

This project was super awesome and it was really cool to work with a real client. It was a huge learning experience for me to be able to get a glimpse of what it may be like in the work force as a designer, and to work with what the client wants. It was good practice to be professional, and I’m happy with how mine turned out!
