Journey to Fairyland
This series of illustrations was created for a commissioned project. I was to create three black and white and one color image for a children's story about three siblings who are whisked away to a fairyland. When the fairyland ball is sabotaged by the trolls, the youngest sister takes it upon herself to help the fairies and save the day.
I started this project by coming up with character designs. The client wanted the children to have a nostalgic, 1960's or 1970's feel. I added stripes to all of their clothes to keep them cohesive.
I then moved on to sketches and thumbnails.
After I settled on the sketches, I began work on the final illustrations.
