Virtual Reality Projects

Series of Virtual Reality projects developed as Lead Artist within a team, while working for the company Gaz Games.

These were my resposibilities:
- To model, texture, light, bake and implement in Unity entire rooms or areas;
- Onboarding of new employees. Induction, teaching and integration into the project workflow;
- Set goals for the team regarding client expectations, create action plans within hardware limitations set by the use of standalone VR;
- Perform a final quality check and implement other employee's rooms and areas into the Unity project, using Github;
- Perform in-engine Lighting, Custom Shaders and Particle Creation;
- Implementation of engine optimizations such as Level of Detail (LODs).

Below is a 360º interactive view of one of the apartments created.
The final result though was viewed by the client in virtual reality using a standalone Meta Quest 2 VR Headset ("standalone" meaning that the project is ran internally in the headset, using only the headset's internal processing power instead of a dedicated computer. This allows more freedom for the user, with no cables attached, but limits the performance tremendously).
Most of the projects were developed by Gaz Games for the brazilian construction company MRV. But there were also other clients such as Mampei Funada, Sensia, etc.
Some projects had a miniaturized mockup version of the entire apartment complex that the user can interact with, while within a separate "lobby" area. In this area the user receives important information about how to navigate throughout the experience, as well as what the experience entails.
