This is my first real attempt at oil pastels! I wanted to experiment with the texture and different ways of adding personality into a piece. I don’t think that experimenting with jellyfish on a dark surface was a great way to start though! The fruits I did later on showed me how to add more dimension and realistic aspects to a piece using oil pastels. (The whale is a little extra thingy I made because I love whales.)

The apple was the first fruit I made using Oil Pastels! It showed that everything has many colors, I used purple to add shadow and yellow to make it look fresh. I learnt a lot from just a simple apple!

I then went on to experiment with eyes, just because of my general interest in them because of how beautiful they are whether realistic or not. I was able to experiment with skin and it showed me how many different colors I actually need to make skin look healthy and nice!

In my sketchbook I decided to glue on my practice over a brown sheet of baby because the neutral colors of the brown paper makes the artwork’s color stronger and more vibrant :)
