For this poster and social media project, I chose to create a fictional tea party for charity event. My inspiration was a recent trip to London where I got to see some wonderful tea shops. I also wanted to do something to highlight a female-themed charity. Shield NC is a local non-profit that helps women escape human trafficking.
For the poster design, I researched different types of tea parties and color schemes that related to flowers and gardens. With so many elements to choose from, I decided to stay with a teacup as the central object, so it wouldn't look too busy. I wanted to convey something modern and not too elegant, so the poster would appeal to a broad audience and not seem stuffy.
I wanted the social media posts to be tied together with the same fonts and colors but have a different look to each. For both the poster and social media posts, it was my first time to use tools to draw the teacups and flowers. After researching social media posts, I wanted to keep these simple with an easy call to action.
