Menu Exercise
This menu for the Villa Donna Café is inspired by the movie musical “Mamma Mia!” that tells the story of a hotel owner in the Greek islands. The rich blues and deep pinks pull from traditional Greek colors, while visual elements, such as the hanging disco ball and scattered stars, pull from iconic elements in the movie. The title, in Bodoni MT font, is warped using the flag effect to create a fun and playful vibe. The subheadings, in Hummingbird font, are center aligned and flanked on each side by thin lines that divide the menu while creating cohesiveness. The food names incorporate the heading font, and their descriptions introduce a new font, Panel Sans, while still creating good contrast with the other text. This menu is not only easy to read but also fun to look at, and it would be a great addition to any Greek restaurant.
