MOORHEN TERRACE: a flood resilience

In the final phase of the Resilient Landscapes Studio's "Woolloongabba 2070" project, I opted to concentrate on a specific site within Woolloongabba to formulate a comprehensive proposal in the form of a conceptual design. This design aimed to exemplify, both theoretically and conceptually, my disciplinary knowledge, design skills, and meticulous approach, all tailored to address the project's underlying premise. The chosen site for my focus was Moorhen Flat, also recognized as Deshon Park, situated between Deshon Street, Lerna Street, and Turbot Drive in Woolloongabba.
The conceptual design proposed the implementation of a flood retention basin or flood overflow control, complemented by a sanctuary or conservation area dedicated to the Glossy Black Cockatoo, and a recreational park for the local community.
