The magical weaving world

Picture 1 : Variable Rubik's Cube tatami:
Inspired by contemporary Japanese aesthetics, Lebanese designer Nada Debs combined Japanese traditional straw weaving technology with mosaic skills applied to ancient classic objects to design tatami series tables. Gradient colors, fine wooden patches and meticulous edge-closing treatment make the works reveal simple aesthetic feeling. Founder table such as the ever-changing Rubik's Cube, its function can be table and chair in the two roles of free change.

Picture 2 : Fallen Leaves from the Forest:
"Larch Basket" is a portable basket designed by French designer Samy Rio for Japanese furniture brand Karimoku. Designers combine handicrafts with industry, so that products have traditional texture and improve production efficiency. The work is woven from larch wood, with a navy blue fabric as the handle, which is simple in appearance and light in weight, and suitable for daily use. In Samirio's view, the moderate integration of handicrafts and industrial production can not only revive traditional handicrafts, but also realize the state and function that both hands cannot achieve.

Picture 3 : Eskimo Chair"
Material: Teak, metal, leather
The "Eskimo Chair" designed by Chinese designer Wang Hongchao is inspired by the dog-pulled sled handmade by Inuit people in the 18th century. In the local area, people use wood, steel and leather ropes to create a vehicle that can support people and goods. We are amazed at the ergonomics and functionality involved in sleigh design, and it gives people a sense of nostalgia and peace of mind to re-engrave and update this retro item after a long time of hand-made. I am very appreciative of Chinese traditional carpentry and Western leather craft, the combination of excellent craft and derived new things has been fascinating. This is a unique piece of work. The structure is made of 5-axis CNC machine tool and teak, and the steel metal frame is embedded inside. The seat surface is hand-woven with leather strips in a specific order and fixed with brass rivets.

Picture 4 : Infinite Time and Space"
Material : Marble
Designer Jovana Zhang's work "Infinite Time and Space" is woven with very thin marble. She tried to break the boundaries of weaving materials and combine stone with weaving technology. Jovana said: "The weaving structure itself creates a circular structure through repeated movements, which always reminds me of its infinity. Just like dancing, each individual rotates along the same track, and finally forms an aesthetic whole. I set a lamp inside the work so that people can see its color and luster due to time."
