Skincare 101 is an informational brochure about the basics of skincare. This project required research as well as layout and organizational skills. The first step was researching the topic and developing the brochure layout utilizing a baseline grid and column guides. The research divided the brochure into an introduction, skin type assessment, and sections based on essential skincare products. The product sections explain the pros and cons, who it’s for, what it’s for, and tips for using the product.
The fonts used were Le Monde Journal and Filson Pro, which evoke professionalism and comfort. Illustrations of cosmetic skincare bottles such as creams, lotions, and serums were drawn in Adobe Illustrator and placed on the pages. The implementation of quotes and tips supported the research. The curved background and left sidebar repeated regularly throughout the brochure maintain consistency. The vibrant color palette used in the illustrations complements the images and textures used throughout the brochure. The subtle sage green color was used as a primary color and evokes botanical and natural relations.
