"Confronting Death's Melody"

"Oh lord, I saw him,
Death.
I saw him multiple times.
He came through the veil, and his cloak touched the chimes.
All the sanguine music started with his every step. The music turned hypnotic, and fast walkers started to creep.
He came in with beautiful music, and everybody started to dream.
When I took a glance over his footsteps, the scarabs were trying to scream.
They tried to tell us about his manipulative tactics,
Because of his melodies and lies, we were ready to take the risk.
Suddenly, we slept in a deep slumber
And heard him calling out a number.
My eyes were open wide, and he looked into mine.
He wasn't there to take me, and I saw someone else join the line.
Oh lord, I was never scared of death if it was for me,
But now, I am scared because he might take everyone but not me.
Oh lord, why did you leave death on the run?
He should be under your clutches, with a leash in your hand, not under the sun.
Evil, immortality, iniquity
Lived in his blood, you said.
I felt soaked tears, covered fear, and nowhere to hide except in your shelter.
So tell me, dear lord, is it death to blame or you?
Because you don't feel pain, do you?"
