High Bridge Works
High Bridge Works has a rich history as a haven for pioneering artists, inventors, and entrepreneurs, dating back to 1767. In collaboration with Altogether, we embarked on a mission to create a brand name and identity for this creative workspace and gallery that would resonate with existing studio occupants and the contemporary art fans visiting this iconic space.

We were inspired by the remarkable history of the building, from its role in hydroelectric inventions for Lord Armstrong to its vibrant life as a printing press. In celebration of this illustrious heritage, we chose to retain the original name, High Bridge Works, as it holds genuine meaning and authenticity, paying homage to this creative sanctuary and embracing its exciting future. The new name beautifully acknowledges the extraordinary makers, creators, and thinkers who have contributed to its legacy over the past 254 years.

Special thanks to building coordinators Peter and Alice for providing vital archive materials, Paul from Creative Space Management and the Altogether team for the valuable and rewarding experience of collaborating.
