We hardly know anything about fairy-tales, and we hardly know their true purpose. This book wants to reveal that fairy-tales are no medieval fiction but still relevant and profound stories.
For the first time, this book puts together the most important cognitions about fairy-tale research (compiled as a question and answer catalogue) with fairy-tales in their original wording. The messages of seven selected stories are explained for the time they were retold and visualized for our time through everyday objects.
The book design contemporarily quotes the original edition of the Grimm brothers fairy-tales (1812) in terms of typography, colourfulness and materials. And, of course, the world of the ordinary people who told the stories and preserved them.
