Truth

Using text that is visually degraded over time, I play with conscious and unconscious perceptions of meaning and form.

Mexican Boarders

Created using found video footage from a 1962 episode of Looney Tunes "Mexican Boarders" and found audio from the exhaustive media coverage on the debate on immigration, using audio to alter the way the moving image is perceived.
Autonomy
Window

My intention was to further the use of text as a meditative tool, raising awareness of the disconnect between meaning and language-- and seeing how that disconnect can allow text to take on a life of it's own.

I made this piece using clips of found footage and stenciled it through the word "window". This was displayed on a 42" TV in the Advanced Arts show at Sarah Lawrence College. The video was displayed in a high traffic area on loop.
