Brief: Produce effective product photography of a range of products. This includes three photos of the individual products and two photos of the range.
Photography concept: Each product is paired with the complementary color corresponding to the color of the product.
Rationale
Given the fact that I do not have professional photography equipment, I opted for a simple composition with minimal props. The ring light used during the first photo shoot ended up not being strong enough for product photography. So I realized that I can not do conventional product photo’s.
The light was even dimmer since it had to be diffused so the ring wasn’t reflected on the bottles surface.
The Reflective nature if the bottle was an issue as it would reflect the window when upright which its one of the reasons why the bottles are lain flat, another reason for this is that I used A3 paper which was to short for when the bottles where upright. I noticed that the colored paper looked lifeless in cool white light so i tried adjusting the warmth on my phone but it wasn’t looking right. Using a sunset light made for some interesting effects which eventually lead to the final images. The images were then lightly edited in Adobe Photoshop.
For the video I wanted to capture the beauty in the light reflecting against the bottles. The video is short and uses very minimal movement in camera work (Since I don’t have a very steady hand. The overall deliverables are satisfactory given that photography is not one of my strong points.
