"You do not take a photograph you make it" exploring the authenticity in portraiture and self portraiture. Rolland Barthes said "when ever you are photographed you invariably suffer from a sense of inauthenticity" I used cut outs of photographs of peoples faces when eating sour sweets (photographs taken at the point in which the subject first placed the sour sweet in their mouth) i then used these photographs as masks and took self portraits to explore authenticity and my own practice.
