NIKE36 LOGO OZONE SERIES - PART 1

Texture/Shape/Form/Color/Light

A personal challenge I set myself to take the classic Nike logo and transform it 36 different ways. Taking inspiration from the Ozone layer I re-imagined how texture and light would help form, warp and mold into solid materials for my logos.

' The Ozone layer is a region of Earth's stratosphere that absorbs most of the Sun's ultraviolet radiation. It contains a high concentration of Ozone which is formed by the action of ultraviolet light and electrical discharges within the Earth's atmosphere. '

I looked at shape and form imagined through the crystallization of the Ozone layer and set on these varying jagged forms for some of the logos almost looking etched or chiseled into shape.

' Crystallization is the process of formation of solid crystals from solution, melt or by deposition directly from a gas phase. '
Texture/Material Creation within Redshift
I started by creating materials which seemed to emit, refract and reflect light themselves. What the ultraviolet light and the Suns rays might look like as they split up through the Ozone layer.
Texture/Material Creation within Redshift
I imagined what solid materials might look like if they would be able to form in the Earths atmosphere. This lead me to create a range of materials, translucent, rocky, jelly, glass, metallic. All created in organic natural formations, in a range of colors, some you might not see appearing naturally on the Earth's surface but I imagine could be created within the Ozone layer of the Earths atmosphere.
