The City campus Catboy Patchwork
a merchandising concept for the opening of the City campus at the University of Ostrava.
Context to this project: the OSU (University of Ostrava) at the beginning of 2023 has officially finished construction on the City campus, which consists of two buildings. One is dedicated to faculty of music & arts, and the other building contains many different sport facilities.
Before those spaces were opened to the students and the public, the University has asked students from our atelier (TFF) to come up with some merchandising ideas, that could promote the official opening of the City campus.
Instead of creating separated merchandise for each faculty, my idea was to combine those two polar motives into one, and so, I've decided to make a little mascot character. The combination of the "sporty" and "fine arts & music" is rather humorous! But also in my opinion very charming and cute, especially in its embroidered form.
The TFF atelier and the committee had very positive reactions to my idea, but unfortunately, this project didn't go past the concept stage, so only the patchwork mock-ups remain. At least they look nice, right?
