SPACE & SENSES: a project for Carriageworks

DESIGN STATEMENT

Therefore, my intention in creating these installations is to explore the sensory experiences within these spaces and enhance the overall experiences that people have in them. Ultimately, my goal is to transform these seemingly non-artistic spaces into ones that evoke an artistic effect and challenge the conventional understanding of spatial deficiencies.

Through an artistic approach, it seeks to enhance people's experiences within the space. The intention behind its creation is to achieve visual harmony while also introducing contrasting elements within the space. This deliberate contrast aims to captivate viewers' attention and interest while amplifying their overall spatial experiences.
THE SPACE

While exploring the Carriageworks site, I found myself drawn to the entrance staircase and passageway. This space serves as a crucial connection point, marking the access and starting point for all visitors' artistic and performance experiences within the site.

However, it often goes unnoticed as our focus tends to be on the activities taking place within. However, due to its status as an unplanned exhibition space, there is a lack of measurement data and perspectives regarding the area. Accurate measurements cannot be obtained, so all the presented measurements are derived from references to other measured spaces and assumptions made based on the available images.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME...
