This series came about when I imagined a
junxstaposition of Carol Christian Poell’s rubber
drip shoes and the glass shards on my fence.
Hence, it became a series with readymade
objects. Marcel Duchamp’s Fountain was one

of the reasons I became interested in ready-
mades. I became interested in high fashion after

a chance encounter with John Galliano’s Maison
Margiela Spring Summer 2020 collection. Later, I

also became interested in collaborations be-
tween high fashion designers and artists, and

corporations; products which are somewhere

between fine art and everyday objects. Rath-
er than a series, the objects I have created

are more of a collection; like the collabora-
tion between Virgil Abloh and IKEA—household

products collection popular with the youth.
Rendering readymade products—which are
meant to be used—unusable is freeing them
from their own purpose of existence.
