Where can I get a work physical exam?
Pre-employment physical exams are available in urgent care clinics. Having your work physical exam done at an urgent care is more affordable and more convenient. You don’t need an appointment and you can get your results the same day.

What does a work physical exam consist of?
It can be nerve-racking thinking that the results of your physical exam could affect your chances of getting the job. But, the exam is nothing to worry about. Here’s what you can expect during your work physical examination:

Medical history
The doctor will ask questions about your personal medical history, including surgeries or hospitalizations, past medications, and those that you currently take.
The doctor will review your family’s medical history to see if there’s a history of heart disease or high blood pressure. This information is important because it can help doctors identify your risks of developing certain conditions, like diabetes. These conditions often have a genetic component.

Vital signs
Vitals include your temperature, heart rate, and blood pressure. These are an important part of a work physical exam as they help give doctors a clue about your current health status.

Physical exam
The actual physical is perhaps the most important part of the exam. The medical provider will listen to your heart, check your breathing and respiration, and test your reflexes.
