A Trip to Maine
A Steller’s sea eagle was spotted in Maine in the winter of 2022 and caused a stir within the birding community as people along the entire Northeast flocked to get a glimpse of the bird. The eagle returned in the winter of 2023 and the continued appearance has delighted Mainers. This illustration was inspired by these events. I thought that this story would make a great picture book.
