I created a fun gig poster for a band I made up called the mad hatter. This was a fun little project that I enjoyed doing. I looked at other gig posters to get some ideas of what I wanted to do. I really liked black light posters from the 70's and that's what I tried to draw some inspiration from.

I did some mind mapping to try and get some more ideas flowing for what I wanted to do in my poster. 

This is what I started creating. I was trying to make a trippy background but I just wasn't achieving what I wanted it to. It just seemed super busy and like there was too much going on. I tried warping the shapes and I still was not satisfied with the turn out. I got some feedback and was able to make a poster I really liked. 

I used blending modes to blend colors together and I think that helped the background not seem like to much. I used the warp effects to make the background wavy and it did so in a uniform way that I wasn't able to create on my own. Overall I enjoyed creating my poster and like how it turned out.
