The Legal Crows Gig Poster

For this project I focused on making a gig poster. The band on the poster was made up, and was a relatively unimportant part of the project. I decided that the poster should convey the feeling of hope in hard times. 

I played around with a few different ideas for my poster. I quickly decided to have a young plant sprouting in a wasteland.  

I decided to include mushrooms for decay and a burnt tree to show lost, the tornado represents danger. 

I added in more burnt out trees and ash I also added a dampening layer. 

I added more trees and a path of debris. I also added a stand in text for the band. 

I added details to the clouds, some lightning, and the light coming down from the sky.

I received feedback that my intended focal point was being undermined by other areas drawing in the eye, so I moved it to one of the third lines and added a dark shape behind the plant. 

I also received feedback that blurs were out of the scope of this project so I removed them. I also received a suggestion to make the plant taller and to make it more green.

I believe that the gig poster does deliver on my original idea of hope in hard times.
