Faces In The Crowd

Faces In The Crowd
A collection of images from political rallies, Singapore, April-May 2011
In late April to early March of 2011, the hustings period of the Singapore General Elections began. The build up on mainstream media and social media sites were buzzing about the coming rallies by the Opposition parties. So I decided to attend one rally and it became apparent to me that this was something historic in the making. Never before had I seen so many of my countrymen come together in such large numbers. One week, eight venues later and these are some of faces I saw in the otherwise faceless crowds...

"Each time a person stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others...
he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring,
those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance."
Robert F. Kennedy (1925-1968)
