Glitch Art

I have studied graphic design for a few years now and have always attempted to develop my own style. But, after cycling through grungy editorial album covers to textured minimalist poster designs and tailor made outcomes for university briefs or clients. At least in the present, I can't help but settle for 'Glitch Art'.

It avoids feeling like a trend and allows creators to utilise such a wide variation of tools and methods to the point that no 2 pieces feel the same; Data Moshing, bending, pixel sorting, turbulent displacement, fractals, echo tracing, noise and grain, colour degradation, double exposure, double vision, heavy use of blurs, pixelation, etc.

It forces you to chase very specific results through a catalyst of psychedelic chaos whether your making a simple piece of cover art or a full length music visualiser and turning it into a tool to augment my creativity is something I consistently intend to pursue.

Poster created for the 'Art of Change' 2023 Design contest, based the environmental theme of 'regeneration'. I wanted this poster to convey the basic concept of humanities ability to both heal and give life and to destroy it / take it away. I chose to approach this idea in a very surface level way - Photoshop / Illustrator / Wacom Intuos
