While working at Domestika, my job was to create video teasers for the platform courses. Those pieces were supposed to feature highlights of each teacher's portfolio (which ranged from fashion design to creative writing projects), pictures and footage shot on set with the teacher, as well as course material.
In my daily work, I would gather those different types of resources - footage, photography, illustrations, comic strips, social media feeds, texts - to create compelling layouts and animations to compose the teasers. I would stitch together diverse frame sizes, shapes, textures, play with different colors and blending modes, cut out parts of an illustration to make the elements move, and so on.
Since a great number of Domestika's courses rely on manual techniques, one of the challenges I faced was to represent each material's textures and sensations through my montages, providing the viewer with a glimpse of what they would experience after buying the course.
