I've been creating hand-bound books for nearly 20 years. I use various bookbinding techniques, including accordion/Leporello, panel Books, board books, secret Belgian binding, and Coptic binding.

I teach a two-day workshop called Bookbinding For Photographers. In that class, I teach four book structures specifically for binding prints into a book.
Sift is an accordion-bound book made from vellum prints. This book features photographs of items sifted from the dirt underneath my home.

This Coptic-bound book is a collection of images taken in Buenos Aires and Iguazu Falls in Argentina.
The Heartbeat books feature the Secret Belgian Binding. These blank books were made for close friends during the Pandemic.
La Llave is a Coptic bound book featuring a very creative series of images that all interconnect in an unexpected way.
The Bridges of Portland is a series of work-in-progress. The Secret Belgian Binding creates the water beneath most of these bridges.
Portfolio and Slipcase for photographer Andy Batt.
La Mano is a Double Walled Panel Book in an accordion fold using images from La Loteria.
"One of Twelve" is a Double Walled Panel Book featuring letterpress printed portraits and text.
This is a clever little portfolio of images by Andy Batt. The spine is an accordion folded and one side adhered together. Each page is a folded print attached to the spine.
