The creation of this Arkalalah logo was one of the first freelancing opportunities I had as a student designer. Arkalalah is a fall festival that occurs every year in the town of Arkansas City, KS, where I earned my Associate's degree. Every year, the Arkalalah committee allows for logo submissions following their theme. This year's theme was Arktoberfest, a play on the word Oktoberfest. 

For this design, they wanted a logo that followed the Oktoberfest theme in a more family-friendly way. I knew I wanted to focus on the typography of the word Arktoberfest, and I thought a great way to emphasize this was to create a badge-style logo. I chose colors that are commonly associated with fall. As I previously mentioned, this was one of the first times I was ever paid for my designs, and it was a thrill to experience my design being displayed all over my college town.
