Character concept design

 

Inspired by a fact I read about white ravens, I immediately started sketching away at a character I’ve had in mind for a while.

I wanted to give a striking contrast between the character’s physical appearance and their demeanour but with subtle influential designs hints for the viewer.

The exaggerated humongous messy braided hair, I wanted the character to carry ‘weight’ and a ‘heavy feeling’. A character that is meant to be seen more likely as a powerful person that’s been through hardships but is unstable at the same time.

Similarly, I’m also drawing inspiration from the character, Joker, from marvel. The concept of a character that appears to have an outgoing and charismatic personality but dangerous as the design shows the deranged and lack of self care.
