Project Summary:
A documentary film titled Jammin’ - The Birth of a Scene has finished production and needs the DVD menus and other press materials designed for the upcoming release.
 
Target Audience:
The target audience for the film includes 20-80 year old men and women who are fans of Jamband music and/or were attendees of any of thousands of shows and festivals that took place in the decade following the death of Jerry Garcia. Deadheads of all types will also be a major target audience of the film.
 
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
Should create a feeling of nostalgia among the target audience.
Slightly chaotic/cluttered/crazy – the same experience the scene provides.
Should contain interactive animation.
 
Communication Strategy:
The DVD menu design should reflect the culture of the fans of Jamband music. A somewhat cluttered, chaotic feel should be created while maintaining ease of usability. Cultural elements should be used where ever possible. Interactivity and easter-eggs should be used to encourage the viewer to explore the full scope of the DVD contents.

Fun, nostalgic, informative.
