SOLO EXHIBITION - "Sublimation of the anthropomorphic"

Overview of the solo exhibition "Sublimation of the anthropomorphic", which was held in the Novi Hram gallery, as part of the 39th International Sarajevo Winter Art Festival. The exhibition took place on 15.2. until 25.2.2023.
The exhibition is inspired by a theme originating from Christianity's theology. Namely, through the media of photography and photo manipulation, in a contemporary context, I problematize the seven deadly sins and the seven holy virtues, abstracting the differences between good and bad deeds, sin and virtue, while pointing out the power of the human subconscious when making choices.
In the scenes of sins and virtues, each portrait individually imitates the subconscious of man. Grotesque and allegorical scenes of open heads (busts), from which anthropomorphic forms emerge, represent many differences that bring with them the subjective expression of the bad and good sides of the human psyche.
I use the intensity and symbolism of colors to separate the dead from the living.
In today's time of disturbed values, the scenes of sin signify the profane today, where sin is accepted as the normality of urban society. On the other hand, allegorical representations of virtues refer to all human values that should be the goal of every human being. Ultimately, I permeate my entire being with my self-portrait and indicate a vision of myself.
Thus, the sublimation of the anthropomorphic refers to human life and the constant struggle that each individual goes through in their way. As an artist, I assemble the acquired knowledge from the research of monotheism, cosmos, myths, and legends into a unique exhibition of works that I present as a kind of iconography of the 21st century.
