This jersey design was a runner up for the Century Dragon Boat team based in Providence, RI. It was one of our client projects in Design Studio & Practice.

Initially, I had planned on designing the shirt with a cartoon dragon to fit with the kind of illustration I would do for personal projects, however, trying to make it work in adobe illustrator became annoying and complicated, so I focused on improving another design I had already made significant progress on that featured and image-traced version of the Providence Skyline.

Towards the end, I wanted to go towards a more brutalist design style as it was something I had wanted to practice for a while but it felt like a bit much for what I was asked to work on, so I kept a remnant of that on the back side of the jersey.
