Groovy Grands - a GameJam project

The theme of this GameJam was "companion".
My part was to design the look and UI of the game.

This is a rhythm game, you can only step for the beat. The theme is represented by Grandpa and Grandma dancing together, controlled by different players. On the two sides of the dancefloor are the "activity meters" of the characters. If one of them gets "too tired" to continue dancing the game is over. If they dance next to each other they can even their energy level. (So the player with the higher energy level can "give" energy to the other player.) If they can dance through the song, they win.
The rhythm-meter is based on this concept:
You can choose the song and the level you want to try.
On the top left you can see the combo count, (and your points - you get 10/beat on as a base), and a charge bar. If you fully charged up, the party gets wild and all your point is tenfold while it lasts.
If you constantly bump into the furniture and start to "get tired", the game will turn visually lifeless.
The game won the overall GameJam, the Gameplay and Theme category and got second-best in Graphics/Presentation losing first place by 0.06 points.
Thank you for your attention!
