WeighComp App - Android app for tablet

WeighComp app - Tablet application for Android
Project: Android app for tablets only. Weigh app for dairies (Take a look!)
Main Challenge: create an application for truck drivers to ease their work.
Process: Design thinking adjusted to the project needs
Background
In the dairies, a huge scale exists that allows truck drivers to weigh their loads.
The main problem is that all that information regarding that weight is written down on paper and later on, there is a lot of burden on the person who is in charge of uploading this material into the platform site (VAS)

Problem Space
Truck drivers are usually non-American people with poor language knowledge and generally low education skills.
We needed to develop an easy app for those users to add the load of their trucks in a smooth way, so that information will, later on, impact directly in the platform site, removing the extra effort of the person in charge.
Proposal
The proposal was to create a KIOSK-look-like application, that will live near the scale of a tablet.
The process was mainly to get the stakeholder’s buy-in on the idea and then to validate the format in place.
For this project, the PO was in charge of validating all the features and flows in place, and we iterated on the findings
.
User Flows
In order to shape the stakeholders’ ideas and the user needs, we created a set of user flows that were validated by experts.
These users flow were the starting point for building the backlog and developing the final mockups.
ID Challenge
While creating the user flow, we realize the need to identify every transaction.
There would be one transaction per truck and driver. We needed an ID for that transaction, but the question was: what should our user do with an alphanumerical ID? Will the user remember the id when leaving the farm?

We decided to ask just for the driver’s name and use that name as a transaction ID.

Later on, we validated this decision when users said: It was very easy for me, just added my name, and the flow started.
Visual Style
For the final mockups, some different aesthetics were presented based on the company branding.

The main focus was to create clear and meaningful illustrations to guide the user on what to do.

Final aesthetics
Based on the visual definitions, the design system was shaped while creating flows and screens.
