The goal of this assignment is to replicate a color palette from a chosen masterpiece. After analyzing the main colors used in the piece, we had to use that palette to make a piece of our own. We had a list of pieces to choose from, and I decided to choose The White Horse by John Constable. The professor only gave me a small composition of the piece, which is the right photo below. The reason behind this is that the piece has a mild tone with no extremely vibrant colors and a set of colors that work together so well. I picked the color Red, Green, White, and Black as the main colors for the palette and of course, all the shades and tints of them.
The first thing I wanted to do was to brainstorm ideas. I came up with using my mother's flower vase to replicate digitally, as this has the same palette as The White Horse. Next, I sketched out the vase and all the smallest details. And finally, I painted the piece. I tried my best to focus on the main aspects of the object first, and then the minute details. I didn't forget to put every tone of the leaves, the flowers, and the red flower beads as well.
