An illustration I made of a mexican sugar skull, inspired by my visit to Playa del Carmen—a popular tourist beach town in Mexico's Mayan Riviera. These ornamanetal skulls were origianlly made of sugar and given as treats to children during the Mexican holiday "Dia de los Muertos" or "Day of the Dead." Now you can find these ornamental skulls—made of porcelain and painted in vibrant colours— decorating the many stalls along the beach town of Mexico.
