This was collaboration project with an English major. The project was to create a 12x18'' broadside. I used led and wood type on the letterpress and spray-paint for the drips and blast.

Sometimes you need to lie down
and look at the world sideways.
There, the headaches slide to one side
and the emptiness in the top of your brain
is a sanctuary.
Sideways the eight on an analog clock
reads infinity
and if the hour is stuck there,
do not get up to rewind it.
The world turns two-dimensional
when you lie down on your side.
Down is inside you and up
simply does not exist.
There is only out;
behind is out of the question.
Sideways, the exit sign shows home
and a key looks like an ornate guitar
that has swallowed its strings.
