In this project I was tasked with creating a poster and social media posts for a skate night event. I envisioned a huge skate park with a wave pool for surfing as well, and this event would be a casual meetup and hangout for people in this community. With this in mind, I came up with the idea to have a skate ramp and a wave on the sides of the poster with a huge skateboard in the middle. Since this event was at night, I made the colors to resemble a sunset with a gradient from a dark navy blue to a vibrant red/orange. To create the logo, I found a font that had very jagged edges which I thought was cool, and I edited it to fit even better. To show that it was a night event I also added the moon and stars which I think made the background pop more. My favorite part of this project is the surfer and skater hitting the jumps on the sides of the poster. For the social media posts, I wanted to show that this was a chill event, so I made them a little more calm and peaceful. This project came together just how I imagined it and it is definitely one of my favorite designs I have done.
