Flowers in Greek Mythology
When I was I kid I was all about ancient mythology. Greek, Roman, Egyptian.
Not long ago a book about Hecate came to my hands, and I got inspired by the chapter about botanics and started to draw Bindweed - a flower which greeks associated with Hecate.
And then I red about Hypnos and his symbol - Poppy flower.
Hermes and Saffron flower. And it all resulted in such a beautiful work!
In the same time it was a great study of flower's structure - as well as transparency and texture of petals.
PS I had no idea that Crocus and Saffron are the same thing :)
