URBANISM PRAGUE
A school project I 2021
This project was designed at CTU as a Design studio project.
The aim of the project was to find a new image of the Prague North Diameter.
This concept is based on the Roman military caster, which was based on two axes. The north-south axis was called Cardo, which in the image of Prague, could be understood as the axis running through the flowing Vltava River. The axis perpendicular to it was called Decumanus, and it is this axis that we are focusing on in our design.
Historically, Prague was not built on the principle of Cardo and Decumanus, but through its development and natural following of the morphology and the curve of the river, we can trace its footprint in the city.

LETNÁ
Letná Plain is a very strong urban but also social place in Prague with its own strong history. In the design I felt the need to preserve the void of the place but at the same time to complete the street line of Milada Horáková so that it is easier to understand from a human scale. I found a solution in an art installation between 2 cultural buildings, creating the illusion of fullness.
BUBNY
The train is an important manifestation of the site and this awareness is emphasised by the location of the railway station building towards the main square. The main urban theme, reinforcing the north-south axis, is the urban avenue connecting the 2 station buildings. This concept is complemented by an almost baroque trident motif anchoring the position of the local centre.
HRADČANY
A challenging space in terms of its shape, the morphology of the site, but also the presence of the train line crossing the entire proposal site. The longitudinal nature of the site invites linearity, but the design also tries to work with the importance of perpendicular urban motifs.
